Bush League Canucks Fancast - Cnuckleheads Present

Canada loses Olympic gold in overtime to the US, and the Americans won't shut up about it, but neither will Canadians, fueling an already burningly heated rivalry. Canucks fans across the board embracing the full rebuild with the trade deadline approaching as Abbotsford's playoff hopes fade and it looks like they won't get a chance to defend their Calder Cup Championship. The Cnuckleheads cover all this, and more, including some World Juniors shout outs, the importance of goalies at the Olympics, and Tristen Nielsen back in the barn this weekend. There’s a lot to unpack on this episode of Bush League.

If there is such a thing as rock bottom for a hockey organization, the Canucks are knocking on it's door with 2 teams at the bottom of their respective division, one of which is bottom of the entire league. Your Host Kenny G and Karl  "the Bear" Lundgren walk us through some hard months of hockey since our Season Preview episode of Bush League back in early October. What needs to change and what can we expect the rest of the season, as the Bush League boys call out some players, both the good and the bad; And touch on, what appears to be an improved fan experience at Rogers Forum for the Abbotsford Canucks, at least the Cnuckleheads are impressed, having represented the Season Ticket holders in the puck drop ceremony at the 5 Year game.

In this episode the Bush League boys change up the format a bit to talk a lot more about Abbotsford.  What’s working and what’s not on the farm team and an interesting apologies segment at the top of the broadcast you won’t wanna miss. 

In this episode we discuss a number of topics, ranging from the recent contract extensions of Patrick Alvin and Jim Rutherford to the Canucks' trades and plans. We delve into the All-Star game, reminiscing on the old East vs West days, and sharing our mixed feelings about the new format. Apart from that, we assess the Kuzmenko trade, take note of Vancouver’s current six-point lead in the President’s Trophy race over Dallas, Florida, Boston, and New York, and discuss the Abbotsford Canucks and their less than stellar start to 2024. With a comprehensive analysis of individual team members’ performances, Klimovich's potential, highlighting the physical presence he brings to the team that bodes well for future games.

After some technical difficulties to start the episode, we got things underway to start the new year.
